Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation, headquartered in Tokyo & taken care by Masayuki Waga, is planning to construct its subsidiary “Ryoka Performance Polymers (Chengdu) Co., Ltd.” for producing performance polymers in Chengdu, China. The construction is of the new production plant, which is estimated to start in 2018 and complete by 2019. The new production site will manufacture PVC slush powder utilized for making automotive interior panel skin and other various parts.
Mitsubishi has two other production facilities in China, i.e., Suzhou and Changshu, for the production of PVC slush powders, thermoplastic elastomer, and adhesive polyolefin. These are utilized in construction materials, automotive, and in making electric cables & wires. The steady growth of various end-use industries, such as automotive, is estimated to foresee great PVC demand in future years in China; to meet the demand, Mitsubishi is coming up with a new production plant. PVC slush powder is in high demand owing to its texture & design capabilities and is best suitable for making automotive interiors.
Mitsubishi is coming up with new performance polymer production plant focusing on the increase in demand in future years. The new production site is located in West Central China, keeping in mind the location where many automotive parts production facilities are present. Mitsubishi is also planning to produce products for optical fields, food, and medical care to meet the future demand. Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation is expected to expand its polymer business by diversifying the application portfolio and reaching out to the potential market.
