Graphmatech and Add North 3D Develops 3D Printable Graphene Filament

July, 2018

Graphene nanocomposite company Graphmatech develops industrial grade printable graphene

The Swedish company Graphmatech and startup Add North 3D has teamed up to develop industrial grade graphene filaments. Graphmatech is a graphene nanocomposite developer that was founded in 2017 by materials scientist Dr. Mamoun Taher and serial entrepreneur Björn Lindh. The company is also involved in the designing and manufacturing of Graphene hybrid material called “Aros Graphene”. Ever since the discovery of Graphene in 2010, it has revolutionized the world of nanocomposite application world. By introduction of Graphene hybrid, end users are expecting an overall gain margin in reduced carbon footprints. Thereby driving the overall market of 3d printing materials consumption globally.

Technologically advanced graphene filaments offering better usability to the customers:

  • Advanced graphene nanocomposites: Graphene is one of the strongest material ever tested. Also, as an incredible conductor graphene holds tremendous potential for a multitude of different sectors, from consumer electronics through to airplane manufacture. However, speaking of the economic realistic point of view the much of graphene’s potential comes from deploying the material in its monolayer form at a larger scale. Graphmatech has tried to add a progressive step to attain economic feasible graphene through its breakthrough research and development.

  • Saving environment through sustainable filaments: The Add north 3D company has approached environmental pollution problem by manufacturing sustainable filaments. Add North produces sustainable plastics like PLA (Poly Lactic Acid) by using corn starch. Some of the company’s bioplastic research is funded by Swedish governmental innovation agencies Vinnova and Almi. The joint effort of both companies is a clear indication of the acceptance of graphene in additive manufacturing and growing concerns to overcome the challenges in the global 3D printing materials market.
