Arkema Strengthening Powder Coating via New Landmark in India
Arkema Inc., a leading supplier to coating industry, opens a new plant in Navi Mumbai, India. Arkema announced the $15 million investment plant in October 2016 with target completion in 2018. The plant will produce first class polyester resin got powder coating which will be sold under brand name of Reafree®. Arkema’s Reafree® resin is primarily utilized in the development of low-VOC powder coating for various industrial and architectural applications. The characteristics of Reafree® allows formulation to have superior scratch resistance, improved flow & leveling, and rheology control.
Arkema produces polyester resin under band name Reafree® in two more sites at Sant Celoni, Spain and North Kansas City, USA. The company announcement elaborated that the three plants would allow them to deliver product anywhere in the world.
The plant is also equipped with dedicated laboratory capable for both application development and technical product support. The plant shall also produce alkyd and acrylic solutions along with oil-free polyester resin and reactive polyamide resins. However, the annual capacity of the plant for products in terms of tons or pounds was not provided.
Arkema is a global specialty chemicals and advanced material manufacturer, based out of France.
