AkzoNobel acquires Polinox

AkzoNobel finalised the acquiring of Brazilian ketone peroxide producer Polinox. The acquisition will be completed in the forth quarter of this year. The presence of AkzoNobel will expand in South America making it one of the leading producer for curing system which is utilized for polyester thermostat resin.

AkzoNobel has invested €180 million in past three years to serve their customer base better through constant innovation, technology update, increasing capacity. The deal says the production know how and the customers list will also be acquired. And some of Polonox brands and trademarks such as, Brasnox, Perbenzox and TecnoxSuper will be acquired by AkzoNobel as deal closes. This will positively impact the presence of AkzoNobel and help improve their global visibility.

About Polinox – Polinox is amongst some major players in peroxides market. It has manufacturing plant in Itupeva, São Paulo producing up to 360 tons of peroxides. It has largest catalog of peroxides in the region. There are around 40 formulations divided between MEKP, BPO, AAP, TBPB, CHP and blends, assuring total choice so that the molder can pick the product that suits the process.
